Position Description

Overview:

Consumers Union is a dynamic, growing and diverse organization seeking a highly skilled, energetic and self-motivated Business Development professional to join its team and help expand the distribution of content and products that truly affect consumers’ lives.
 
As the nonprofit publisher of Consumer Reports, we are the largest consumer product testing center in the world, with 50 labs under one roof.  As a digital and print publisher with one of the largest subscriber bases in the world, we focus on informing and educating consumers.   Whether deciding which refrigerator, digital camera, or car to purchase or selecting the best hospital for their needs, Consumer Reports is the most trusted source of unbiased information available.  With a combined reach of over 7 million subscribers, we offer a unique range of content and services to our partners and licensees. 


Qualifications:

Our qualifications include 5-7 years business development experience in an online environment and an in depth knowledge of online and print media information business models. 

Strong relationship skills, experience in contract negotiations and developing and implementing legal agreements are also required, along with excellent presentation skills.    

Of course, the ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with a varied group of stakeholders is a must.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be working closely with the Director of Business Development and will be responsible for identifying new partners and developing, negotiating and implementing new content partners and other business opportunities for our online, print, and mobile products. 

You will also direct ongoing strategy and planning of existing business development partnerships, develop new license agreements, and manage staff.
